www.xyenterprise.com/ - XyEnterprise Mary Galoski Parsons, 781-756-5454 mary.parsons@xyenterprise.com or TechMarcom Jon Boroshok, 978-448-0580 jb@techmarcom.com XyEnterprise, a leading developer of award-winning XML content management and multi-channel delivery solutions, today announced it has acquired XSystems of Herndon, Va. in a private transaction. XSystems' services will comprise a new business unit for XyEnterprise, bringing an added dimension in the area of editorial tools development, standards expertise and consulting services. In addition, all XSystems' employees have joined XyEnterprise in various capacities. The acquisition follows a successful, 15-year partnership between the two companies and strengthens XyEnterprise's position as an industry-leading provider of content life-cycle products and services.
"XSystems and XyEnterprise have been active partners since 1994, working jointly on a variety of service and product initiatives and sharing many clients," said Barry Schaeffer, founder and president of XSystems and now Principal Project Lead, XyEnterprise. "As a part of XyEnterprise, the former staff of XSystems will continue to offer the same expert services and support that our customers have come to rely on, though now we will have the backing of the larger XyEnterprise organization, allowing us to expand our availability and range of expertise to our customers," Schaeffer said.
XSystems' software maintenance and service operations, as well as the company's other assets, will be transferred to XyEnterprise and current clients with active maintenance agreements will continue to be supported without change or interruption.
"We are extremely pleased to be joining forces with XSystems, a company that both we and the industry hold in high regard," said Carol Bumbaca, VP Customer Support, XyEnterprise. "XyEnterprise and XSystems have long worked together on a wide range of projects, including service work, product implementations and software development. XSystems' extensive experience in authoring, usability efficiency and link management will provide an added dimension to XyEnterprise's already robust services offerings," Bumbaca said.
Former XSystems' employees will focus on consulting services at XyEnterprise while they continue to work with their exiting customers, primarily in the area of editorial tools development and consulting. They will also work to leverage their industry experience with standards, including DITA and S1000D, as well as data modeling. In addition, Barry Schaeffer will manage service engagements, and apply his extensive industry knowledge to product marketing, and ongoing market research.
In addition to XSystems staff, XyEnterprise plans to integrate XSystems' tools and technology into the Contenta product suite. These tools, especially Version Manager for effectivity control, are already providing significant value to mutual customers. The XSystems' technology extends Contenta's focus on authoring and editorial productivity in increasing complex multichannel content delivery environments - particularly for emerging XML standards such as DITA and S1000D.
"XSystems has an excellent track record in planning and implementing successful content management and publishing solutions with both private and public sector organizations," said Kevin Duffy, President and CEO, XyEnterprise. "Their commitment to client satisfaction and success closely aligns with ours: a model that has helped hundreds of customers realize long-term value from their content management and publishing solutions."
