RON PAUL SUPPORTERS IMITATED

2008-06-06 17:32:57 - Fans of Ron Paul have launched their own Moneybomb in imitation of those run by his supporters in the US.

The success of Ron Paul supporters in raising money for his U.S. Presidential bid is being replicated by some of his fans in the U.K.

Members of the new UK National Liberal Party have launched their own Liberty Money bomb*. Scheduled to coincide with Magna Carta Day on June 15th supporters have created their own videos and website www.15thjunemagnacarta.org to

accept donations.

One of the organisers Graham Williamson said 'Many of us in the UK have been following Ron Paul's campaign with interest. His message of non-intervention and Individual freedom strikes a cord here too since the U.K. was equally complicit in taking us to war in Iraq and in curtailing civil liberties. For non Americans he is a beacon of light and gives us hope that there are still patriotic Americans who don't believe that war and a centralised state is the mark of a ‘Great Country'.'

He also said 'His supporters not only talked the talk but worked and donated just as hard to help promote the message of Liberty and Freedom. We hope that supporters of Liberty here will do the same'.

Supporters are asking for 10,000 citizens to donate at least £10 ($20) each on June 15th.

* Successful Money bombs usually make great use of the Internet via viral marketing techniques. The most successful have been one day events, the greatest so far was one run in 2007 for Ron Paul to coincide with the Boston Tea Party which raised over $6 million.
