A US man has proved his pizza eating prowess by eating over 15 slices in a competition. Sal Carbone won the annual contest, at Rocco's pizzeria in New York, for the second year running. Carbone broke his own record in the process. Five pizza eaters squared off against each other for the competition. The second place contestant only managed to make his way through 12 and quarter slices. The annual contest is run for charity and raised around £2,000 for young people's organisation MercyFirst. The charity runs group homes and other services for about 4,000 children, teenagers and families in the New York City and on Long Island areas.
