A homeless woman has been arrested for living in a man's cupboard without his knowledge. Tatsuko Horikawa went undetected for a year and was only found when police searched the home of the owner - who thought he lived alone. The Fukuoka resident noticed food missing and installed security cameras linked to his mobile phone, which took pictures of the woman in his home. Police came to investigate and found the woman in a small space at the top of a built-in cupboard.
Horikawa, 58, said she came into the house one day when she discovered the door left open. She said she took no money or items from the house, but used the toilet and shower. Police said Horikawa looked neat and clean. Police charged her with trespassing.
