Handcuffed escape

2008-05-29 18:34:20 -

A Malaysian drug suspect managed to steal a police car and escape, despite being handcuffed.
The 24-year-old was being taken to court by three police officers when he managed to escape. The officers stopped to use the toilet while on the way to court, but while two of them went to the restroom the suspect overpowered the third and sped away in the police car with his hands still in cuffs.
The suspect avoided a police roadblock, but the car eventually skidded down a slope and crashed into a tree.
Police chief Roslan Bek Ahmad said: “We managed to get the police car back, but he escaped on foot.” The suspect was being tried for a heroin possession charge.
