Communications Platforms Trade Association Announces New Board Leaders

www.cp-ta.org - Nereus for CP-TA Joe Saylor or Rochelle Miller, 503-619-0656 pr@cp-ta.org The Communications Platforms Trade Association (CP-TA) today announced new board members and officers representing member companies Nortel, Enea, Kontron, Emerson and Diversified Technology, Inc (DTI). Todd Spraggins of Nortel is the new Chairman and President, Sven Freudenfeld of Kontron is the new Vice President, and Stuart Jamieson of Emerson will serve as Secretary and Treasurer. Enea and DTI are member companies that have been voted onto the board.

"I look forward to working with my colleagues as we move closer to the goal of offering freedom of choice to network equipment providers and service providers," said Todd Spraggins, CP-TA President and Chairman. "A robust AdvancedTCA ecosystem is extremely beneficial to both network equipment providers and service providers in terms of cost-efficient communications infrastructure and alternative product and sourcing choice."

The following CP-TA members comprise the board:

-- Todd Spraggins, Nortel, follows Shlomo Pri-Tal as CP-TA President and Chairman

-- Sven Freudenfeld, Kontron, follows Marwan Khoury as Vice President

-- Stuart Jamieson, Emerson, follows Marwan Khoury as Treasurer and Todd Spraggins as Secretary

-- Brian Wood, Continuous Computing

-- Joe McDevitt, DTI

-- Jim Lawrence, Enea

-- Marwan Khoury, Intel

-- Anthony Ambrose, RadiSys

Enea and DTI are new to the board. Both have been member companies of CP-TA since 2006.

Enea is a leading supplier of real-time operating systems, middleware, development tools, database technology and professional services for high-availability telecommunications infrastructure systems and mobile devices. Enea's software is deployed in approximately half of the world's 3G mobile phones and base stations.

DTI has a thirty-plus-year heritage in the industrial computer industry. DTI's customer deployments extend globally, with high-end processing solutions fielded in major telecommunications, military, and data networks.

"We are pleased to have every segment of the of the CP-TA membership represented on the board," said Spraggins. "Having the perspectives of hardware providers, middleware and network equipment providers will help us work together to advance CP-TA's mission."

CP-TA is finalizing interoperability issues for AdvancedTCA and beginning to look at AMC and MicroTCA. It plans to release new versions of the ICD and the TPM in the spring of 2008.
