AURORA ORGANIC DAIRY FOUNDATION CONTRIBUTES TO TORNADO RECOVERY EFFORTS IN NORTHERN COLORADO
Foundation Donates $1,000 to the Red Cross Centennial Chapter Following Thursday's Tornado in Windsor and Nearby Towns and Pledges to Match All Employee Donations
Aurora Organic Dairy, a leading U.S. provider of high-quality, private-label organic milk and butter, today announced a $1,000 donation to the Red Cross Centennial Chapter in the wake of the large tornado that swept through Northern Colorado on May 22. The storms that spawned the tornado resulted in dozens of damaged homes and businesses, leaving several Northern Colorado residents homeless.
Additionally, the company is encouraging its employees to donate to help with disaster-relief efforts in the area, and has pledged to match all employee donations.
Aurora Organic operates three facilities in Northern Colorado - a certified organic dairy farm and on-farm milk processing plant in Platteville, and two organic dairy farms outside of Kersey, near the town of Windsor. Windsor and nearby towns were heavily impacted by the tornado. The Aurora Organic facilities reported no major damage as a result of the storms.
"Northern Colorado, particularly Weld County, has been part of the success of our company since we were founded in 2003, so it's important for us to reach out to our neighbors in a time of need," said Marc Peperzak, President and CEO of Aurora Organic Dairy. "We are thankful that none of our employees were harmed and none of our facilities were damaged. We wanted to extend our support to the local Red Cross to help get local residents back on their feet."
