Sustainable building technologies

Building the future

2008-05-19 10:31:29 - Voluntary, market-driven programs are the best way to encourage the growth of green building

Director O. Manica, supports a new approach to building technology. ‘If real transformation is to take place on the scale required, a national coalition is essential to promote and champion the design and construction of sustainable buildings.
The availability of green building technologies has been steadily increasing to the point of affordability. Some high-profile projects are setting the stage for broader acceptance and use.

"We are close to the tipping point at which green design becomes the default and favorite option for smart building." and it would do so in a practical and concerted manner for the benefit UK business as well as the environment.

As homeowners become more environmentally friendly and demand ecological choices, a new generation of architects and builders is emerging, intent on creating warm and inviting homes that cause only a fraction of the environmental impact of conventional building methods. We have to provide an overview of green building techniques, materials, products and technologies that are either currently available or promise to be in the near future. There are choices on green building materials, earth-sheltered architecture, passive solar heating and cooling, sustainable approaches to water and waste, energy efficiency, and environmental landscaping.

There is a potential for passive heating and cooling and we have to provide a resource guide, recommendations, and a green-building checklist to our customers.
