www.gamefly.com - Allison & Partners Pia Burone, 310-496-4457 Pia@allisonpr.com GameFly, the leading online video game rental service, today announced the launch of two new commercials which will begin airing this week. Created by marketing ideas agency WONGDOODY and visual effects agency Zoic Studios, the spots contain no live action and rely fully on computer generated animation technology to create imaginative, seamless narratives which demonstrate the scope of games available and how easy it is to rent from GameFly. Both commercials are inspired by well-known video game environments - military simulation, role playing game, racing and an old-school side-scroller.
"We were able to create commercials that not only educate about how the GameFly service works, but appeal to a broad range of consumers as we highlight the most popular game genres, from the latest shooter to old-school favorites," said David Hodess, GameFly's CEO. "We aim to develop unique commercials that resonate with our consumers and it is clear WONGDOODY and Zoic Studios were able to capture and deliver our vision."
In one spot, a modern-day paratrooper places a GameFly order online as he parachutes from a helicopter. The fulfillment warehouse springs into action, which is styled after the old-school, side-scrolling video games of yesteryear. The video game rental from GameFly is delivered through a behind-the-wheel perspective from a high-octane racing game, then lands directly at the paratrooper's doorstep.

Creative agency WONGDOODY designed the spots and worked with Zoic Studios to collaborate on the animation and motion capture. The soundtracks were the result of extensive research into the actual sound effects found in both modern and classic video games.
"The new ads communicate GameFly's convenience while also keeping viewers engaged throughout the entire 30 seconds," said Michael Boychuk, WONGDOODY senior creative director. "By referencing different game genres we all know and love, we not only tap into the target audience's nostalgia for these games, we also show that GameFly offers the largest variety of titles available."
The spots will begin airing May 16 on various broadcast and cable networks nationwide. They will run on Comedy Central, Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, Spike TV, MTV, Current TV, FX, G4 TV, the Science Channel and ESPN2, among others.
