Buy the famous images of the Liszt collection at alimdi.net It all began with the collecting passion of a young girl in the 19th century: since Gizella Black had met as a child the young composer Franz Liszt in the famous coffee house of her father, she had begun to gather in her suitcase everything about him: Portraits of the young artist as well as articles and other material about
his haunts. Soon the theme extended a variety of images and documents on culture and daily life in the 19th century were added. Today, this former private collection has become an ambitious international project. The aim: to preserve for posterity everyday life, art and culture of the 19th century in contemporary paintings, prints and articles.
An interesting selection of approximately 15,000 motifs can be found since early February in the database of alimdi.net, the Munich image agency. Alimdi owner, Thomas Müller explains: "These are invariably reproductions from old books and other historical printed materials. The themes range from maps and drawings of plants through technical illustrations of bygone days, to classic ornaments." In the online shop of the agency at
go.alimdi.net/liszt-collection there is a light box with some samples of the collection.
