Midlands accountancy firm Ballard Dale Syree Watson is pleased to announce the appointment of Senior Audit and Accounts Manager Mark Skellum to its growing management team.

Thirty-Seven year old Mr Skellum is delighted to take up his position with Ballards at the firm’s expansive Droitwich office. With a growing employee base of 50 and an expanding portfolio of clients throughout the West Midlands and beyond, the practice continues to thrive in a difficult climate.
He said: “What I enjoy the most about working at Ballards is the fact that you really get the chance to build-up solid relationships with your clients. You get to know them on a much more personal level and gain an insight into the mechanisms and complexities of their business.”
“This knowledge enables you to advise the client in a much more informed way as you have an understanding of the business in its entirety, allowing you to step back and view its full commercial potential. By applying a more diagnostic approach you can identify areas for improvement. This is very important as business owners need as much support and guidance as you can give in the current economic downturn.”
Currently commuting from his home in Sutton Coldfield, Mr Skellum has plans to move to South Worcestershire where his wife Naomi was born and bred. His two-year old son Alex is soon to be joined by a new arrival in February. He continued: “The countryside around here is so beautiful and with access to some of the best performing schools in the region, it’s a perfect environment for a growing family.”
Ballard Dale Syree and Watson have built up a substantial portfolio of clients from a diverse range of private and public sector organisations. It has been providing a range of integrated services to medical practices, farming and rural businesses, emerging technology companies and a broad spectrum of ‘small to medium enterprises’ for nearly three decades.
Continuing to support its ethos of looking after the accountancy needs of local ‘owner managed businesses, business development director Steven Jones said: “I think job satisfaction and a desire to have a better work-life balance is very important to people. Mark’s decision to migrate from a large City-based practice is perfectly understandable. We help a range of businesses and each one is as different as their owners are individual. We work with them rather than working for them which means we share and help them to achieve their business aspirations too.”
