Kiwi David William Wakefield charged with child abuse, trafficking back in Davao prison
By Malu Cadelina Manar
The Kiwi, nabbed last October in Davao City for trafficking and child abuse but was later given temporary liberty due to technicality, was finally arrested today, a police official said.
City police director,
Supt. Renante Cabico, said David William Wakefield, 50, was apprehended after the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Davao City issued a warrant for his arrest.
Wakefield was charged with violations of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, Anti-Child Abuse Act, and statutory rape, police records showed. Cabico said Wakefield was arrested in his hotel room in Davao City on October 25.
The police brought the complainants, both girls aged 11 and 13, in Wakefield’s room to check if he was the person they alleged to have committed sexual molestations against them.
A week later, however, the Kiwi was given temporary liberty due to some technicalities.
