USA: ! What Is J-1 Training - Was ist J-1 Training?

The purpose of the J-1Traineship Visa is to provide the Exchange Visitor the opportunity to participate in a work-based learning program that reinforces a student`s or recent graduates academic study through on the job training, also for professionals to gain more experience and get a chance to train in multicultural

environment. The J-1 Internship visa is a non-immigrant visa, therefore the Cultural Exchange Visitor agrees they are not intending to immigrate to the United States nor will they seek to change their status while here in the United States or become employed by their 3rd party host during their contracted dates with the designated sponsor.

-Post-secondary students enrolled full time and pursuing studies at a post
secondary accredited academic institutions located outside the United States who
come to the United States to work and travel during their summer vacation.
-The Winter Work Travel program provides foreign students with an opportunity to live and work in the United States during their winter vacation from college or university to experience and to be exposed to the people and way of life in the United States.
-Have successfully completed at least one semester or equivalent of post-secondary academic study.
-Sufficiently proficient in English to successfully interact in an English speaking
environment

Program Start Dates
-Maximum program duration is 4 months from December to April.
-Applications starts in June, 15 up until September, 25.
-Wages changes between $5.00 to $9.00 depending on the position and tip availability.
