2012-05-05 08:31:05 - The "European Conference in Adapted Physical Activity" will take place in Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland on 6 May 2012.

The focus of the conference will be the presentation of research and case studies which can inform day to day practice in relation to the inclusion and empowerment of people with disabilities in sports and physical activity.

The conference will also include presentations relating to projects and programmes which improve service delivery in adapted physical activity.

Adapted Physical Activity:
This theme concentrates

on physical activity, social inclusion and life-long well-being for the population. Specific interventions which demonstrate successful impact on the lives of people with disabilities are welcomed.

Adapted Physical Education:
This theme challenges us to think about aspects of quality teaching/learning for all in physical education.

Disability Sport:
This theme addresses the issues of activation and development of sports opportunities from the grass roots to the elite level in both disability and integrated sport.

Rehabilitation:
This theme will highlight a wide variety of therapeutic interventions. Presentations which involve a multidisciplinary approach would be of particular interest.
