Ukraine: Crimea increased grain sales by 3.5% During January-October of 2009, agricultural enterprises of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Ukraine) sold 611.9 thsd tonnes of grains, an increase of 3.5% compared to the same period of the previous year, declared the Main department of statistics of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
According to the announcement, wheat sale volumes totaled 374.7 thsd tonnes, barley – 203.8 thsd tonnes,
rye – 459 tonnes. Besides, agricultural enterprises sold 13.5 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed.
During January-October of 2009, the average purchasing price of grains, offered by the Crimean enterprises, dealing with gain storing and processing, to commodity producers, totaled 930.4 UAH/t, including wheat – 855.3 UAH/t (in January-October of 2008 – 980.2 UAH/t and 982.1 UAH/t respectively).
As a reminder, in January-September period of 2009, agricultural enterprises of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea sold 551.6 thsd tonnes of grains, an increase of 5.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
