Liverpool dentist Ollie and Darsh recently opened up their city centre practice to help peoplewho are involved with Nugent Care, a North-West based Charity.

Free dental check-ups and treatments were on offer and Ollie and Darsh made themselves available for one to one consultations with everyone. With the help of a sign language interpreter patients were put at ease and their

treatments were explained in full. Each individual was also given advice on how to look after their teeth and gums.

The deaf people who attended all felt as though they had been treated as VIP's and received a first class service. Visiting the dentist if you are deaf can be a very difficult expereince due to the communication difficulties that occur when the dentist puts on their mask, obscuring their mouth and making it impossible to know what is going on.

The day was deemed a great success by all and all patients left feeling better about the teeth and more at ease about the prospect of visiting the dentist in the future.
