New Delhi November 14, 2009:- Odissi Dancer Aadya Kaktikar will present RASA SHRINGAAR- the essence of Odissi at The India International Centre, Delhi, on Sunday, 15th November 2009, at 7:00 p.m.

All items presented are original compositions of Guru Mayadhar Raut.

Guru Mayadhar Raut’s dance style is known for its extensive Mudra usage and intense Abhinaya. The programme highlights the

nuances of the Mayadhar Raut Padhhati of Odissi known for its grace and depth of expression. His dance style is also known for its extensive Mudra usage and intense Abhinaya.

Aadya Kaktikar a disciple of Madhumita Raut is emerging as the new face of this ancient dance tradition, is an accomplished Odissi Dancer who has undergone two decades of rigorous training under the able tutelage of Guru Mayadhar Raut and Madhumita Raut at “The Mayadhar Raut School of Odissi Dance” at New Delhi. She is currently engaged in reviving the traditional Odissi dance items and trying to extend the scope of Odissi by experimenting with modern literature.
