2009-11-10 21:38:04 -

Aaron Blum, Co-Founder and Chief Compliance Officer of Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste, addressed the crowd of waste and recycling industry professionals today at this year’s North American Hazardous Materials Management Conference in Houston, Texas.

In a presentation titled “Promoting Electronic Waste Recycling Through Public-Private Partnership,” Blum provided an overview of how public-private partnerships could

be leveraged to benefit all parties.

He described how to partner with non-profit groups, the planning process, the benefits and challenges of the public-private partnership concept and some of ERI’s own event results, including a look at a series of electronic waste collections performed at Sea World which resulted in an average of 50,000 pounds of electronic waste collected per event.

“We’re honored to have been asked to speak here today at the North American Hazardous Materials Management Conference,” said Blum. “ERI has had great success teaming with non-profits all over the country and helping them establish electronic recycling collection events. It’s always rewarding to develop these partnerships where we enable entities throughout the country recycle their electronics in a responsible, environmentally safe manner. It makes sense to share some of these success stories with our colleagues and peers in the industry.”
