HBO ARCHIVES MAKES ENTERTAINMENT NEWS FOOTAGE AVAILABLE FOR CLIP LICENSING

Featuring footage covering more than 30 years of the Entertainment industry. NEW YORK, November 10, 2009 – This summer, HBO Archives retrieved over 13,000 videotapes of never-before-cataloged footage highlighting all facets of the world of Entertainment dating from the early 1980’s to the late 1990’s. This newly available material now joins HBO Archives vast Entertainment News Library, covering the 1970s to the present, all of which are offered for clip licensing.
“This collection is one of great depth and breadth,” says Chris Spencer, Executive Vice President, HBO Creative Services. “Since the ‘70’s we have produced celebrity featurettes and many original long-form series and specials, resulting in a plethora of one-of-a-kind archival footage.”
The overall, extensive library contains exclusive behind-the-scenes, red carpet premiere and gala appearances as well as celebrity interviews from the worlds of film, television, music and comedy. Filled with profiles of big-name directors, actors, musicians, producers and writers, the collection captures the magic of Hollywood and beyond.
Full coverage of the major industry award events, such as the Oscars®, Grammy’s, Emmys®, Cannes and Golden Globes® have been staples since the entertainment division started. Footage includes pre-show nomination lunches, pre-and-post show interviews and star-studded parties.
During the last decade, the focus of HBO Entertainment News has expanded to HBO original programs with unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to a new generation of classics like The Sopranos®, Sex and the City® and Entourage® as well as celebrated miniseries and movies. The most recent footage produced by the Entertainment News division is available in high definition.
