Dell Equips Businesses with the Right Tools and Services to Quickly Deploy and Optimize Microsoft Exchange 2010

Dell today introduced new reference architectures and services to help customers reduce the cost and complexity of deploying Microsoft Exchange 2010. With these new tools and services, customers will be able to quickly and efficiently move beyond deployment to begin taking advantage of new Exchange 2010 features including support for 10GB mailboxes, reduced disk I/O, enhanced mobility, greater fault-tolerance and

enhanced voicemail and email integration.

Dell also conducted several months of rigorous performance testing on Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 to optimize performance across its entire line of server and storage platforms. Beginning today, Dell’s complete line of 64-bit PowerEdge servers and PowerVault, EqualLogic, and Dell|EMC storage solutions support Microsoft Exchange Server 2010.

Simple and Effective Blueprints Take Guesswork Out of Exchange 2010 Deployment

Dell has developed two architecture models to help customers reduce risks and accelerate the process of deploying Microsoft Exchange 2010.

As a result, customers can achieve greater productivity and infrastructure efficiency. Dell took advantage of its broad server and storage portfolio, internal Microsoft Exchange expertise and the Exchange 2010 Technology Adoption Program (TAP) to develop these architecture blueprints.

- Agile Consolidated Model: This architecture is ideal for customers who are building a dynamic data center through server and storage consolidation and standardization instead of deploying unique and dedicated application infrastructures. In this model, server and storage virtualization play a central role in abstracting customers’ application and operating system from the hardware infrastructure.
Dell PowerEdge blade or rack servers paired with EqualLogic PS series or Dell|EMC CX4/AX4 storage area network (SAN) solutions provide the server and storage foundation for this model.



- Simple Distributed Model: This architecture provides a server and storage infrastructure optimized and tuned to deploy Exchange 2010 in the simplest, most highly available and cost-effective manner. This model leverages server and storage components in two distinct manners – through the storage dense PowerEdge R510 without any requirement of external storage, or through a standard PowerEdge rack server with direct attached storage device like the Dell PowerVault MD1000.



New Consulting Services Provide Guidance and Proven Processes

Dell created ProConsult consulting services to assist customers in the evaluation, assessment, design and implementation of upgrades or complete migrations to Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. Unlike traditional consulting engagements, Dell ProConsult services use Dell’s targeted consulting methodology based on experience gained through thousands of customer engagements to keep projects on time and on task.
