Osmond biographer Randy Jernigan says the entertainers career is at an end with the firing of manager karl Engemann Marie Osmond biographer, Randy Jernigan, weighs in on the firing of her long-time manager, Karl Engemann, telling a british tabloid that it's the end of Marie's career.
"Karl Engemann was the best thing that ever happened to Marie Osmond, career-wise," says Jernigan. "When there was no show business calls coming in, Karl was out cultivating his resources and developing projects that
would benefit Ms. Osmond. There has been no success in Marie's career in the past 35 years that wasn't a direct result of Karl Engemann's hard work and devotion.."
Jernigan, author of a forthcoming biography on the entertainer, says he was not surprized by the recent action on Osmond's part. "My family sources have been telling me that Marie wasn't happy with things as they were--and that she owed Engemann a large sum of money."
According to recent press reports Osmond had already severed her working relationship with long-time assistant Lisa Hatch, also refusing to compensate her for work done in Osmond's designer doll company.
Jernigan also claims that little brother Jimmy played a large roll in Engemann's firing. "I've heard reports that it was Jimmy's idea to let Karl go--and it won't surprise me to see Jimmy in Karl's management position very soon." said Jernigan. "In my opinion, Marie Osmond's career is over."
