Annodyne, Inc.
2009-11-09 17:18:21 - Annodyne, Inc. announces new client and independent book publisher, Quirk Books.

Quirk turned to Annodyne for strategic support in extending the buzz around their popular book series and to develop a fully interactive web destination complete with social media tie-ins.

Annodyne developed a media strategy and subsequent online advertising campaign to generate brand awareness for their summer 2009 release, “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies the first novel in the original Quirk

Classics mash-up series. Part of Annodyne’s online media strategy included the creation of motion graphic banner ads which received over thirteen million impressions. The ads highlighted “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies€ť 16-week run on "The New York Times" best seller list and as the latest pick for Oprah Winfrey’s "25 Books You Can’t Put Down."

To build upon the campaign’s success, Quirk also engaged Annodyne to develop an interactive, social media enriched website that resulted in a destination for fans to learn about, read from and comment on the Quirk Classic book line. The site launched on the eve of Halloween, in conjunction with the announcement of the upcoming Quirk Classic, a prequel to “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” slated to release in March 2010.

Brett Cohen, VP of Quirk Books commented on the word-of-mouth phenomenon that inspired Quirkclassics.com. “The Quirk Classic series has very much been a word-of-mouth phenomenon. The initial buzz for “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” started with a blogger posting the cover that she pulled from our catalog. The cover was picked up by other sites and people just started talking about it. We announced the follow-up title, “Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters via a YouTube video book trailer that was also bounced around the Internet. The launch of QuirkClassics.com offers a centralized point for our fan base to interact with our books, our authors, our content, and, most importantly, each other

Furthermore, Cohen remarks, “We were impressed with Annodyne’s attention to and understanding of the social media landscape. Their knowledge and experience were critical in creating and executing on a site that delivered an entertaining and social experience—two factors that have had a tremendous impact on making the series successful
