Indian economy, services exports is the forte,the services-GDP ratio rising from 1.4 per cent in 1990-91 to 7.7 per cent in 2007-08 driven by software services, has grown in terms of both size and destination. Indian has emerged as the major software exporting country with a level of over US$ 40.3 billion in 2007-08, expanding at an average rate of around 34 per cent in the past eight years. There are twenty seven countries participating in 29th India International Trade Fair ( IITF). India's premier event of India Trade Promotion Organasation (ITPO), the nodal trade promotion agency of the Government of India will be organised at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi during November 14- 27' 2009.

various States / Union Territories, State Pavilions offer a dynamic window to reach out to large Indian & International populace- with the spectrum of hightech services at one end and traditional wares on the other adding to a befitting display of India's versatility covering a broad industrial canvas.

The fair display amazing strides of achievements in different halls in the form of Special displays of Techmart, Buildtech, SARAS, Good living etc, to comprising a wide range of products and services, engineering, automobiles, electronics, chemicals, drugs and pharmaceutical, jute, rubber, handicrafts, jewelery, consumer goods and other sectors.
India's exports of services would surpass its merchandise exports by 2012. With the current rate of growth in services exports to continue in the medium term, India's exports of services will be close to $ 311 billion by 2012 overtaking the expected level of merchandise exports of $ 305 billion in 2012. The services driving this accelerated growth will include software services, business & management consultancy services, tourism services and other professional services. On calendar year basis, India currently exports more than $ 100 billion. On an average,India's services exports are growing at the rate of 28% per annum for the last 5-6 years and merchandise exports have increased by 22 % annually for the same period.
