Paul M. Aebersold, Ph.D. Joins Board of Directors at NanoIVD, Inc.

NanoIVD, Inc. today announced that Paul M. Aebersold, Ph.D. has been appointed to the Company's Board of Directors. Dr. Aebersold advises pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies on regulatory strategy for product development.
He earned an undergraduate degree in physics and a doctorate degree in biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley. He did post-doctoral research at the Sloan Kettering Institute, the Department of Molecular Biology at U.C. Berkeley, and at the Harvard University School of Public Health. He then
worked at Cetus Corporation, an early biotechnology company, on biological characterization of recombinant cytokines and at the National Cancer Institute on immunologic therapy of cancer.
He subsequently worked for 16 years at the Food and Drug Administration in the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, initially on INDs for cytokines, somatic cell therapies, and gene therapies, later on INDs and BLAs for immune globulins, clotting factors, and oxygen therapeutics and on IDEs and PMAs for combination biologic/device products. He made presentations at the Blood Products Advisory Committee and at FDA-sponsored workshops on oxygen therapeutics (blood substitutes) and immune globulins and he participated in the drafting of guidance documents for fibrin sealants, oxygen therapeutics, and trials run under the provisions for exception from informed consent. He received five Certificates of Appreciation and 12 Awards and while at the Food and Drug Administration, including a Secretary's Award for Distinguished Service from the Department of Health and Human Services.
