This Week’s TV: Emma’s a Charity Case

2009-09-22 17:44:41 - Emma Atkins tells this week’s TV Choice why she was scared at the thought of returning to Emmerdale following a four-year break from playing scheming man-eater Charity Tate.

‘It was quite daunting,’ admits Emma, who left the show in 2005, but is back on our screens this week as Charity prepares for another marriage. ‘I wanted to do brilliantly and I was scared I’d mess up my lines. But it was so exciting to put on this big glamorous dress and have these huge fights in a church!’

Meanwhile,

this week’s issue of TV Choice is packed full of features on the best of the week’s telly, including chats with Steve Pemberton and Sheila Reid as Benidorm, which also co-stars Johnny Vegas, returns. Joseph Fiennes chats about his new series FlashForward, and former Coronation Street actress Tina O’Brien explains more about her guest role in Blue Murder.

Gok Wan is also persuading more women to strip in How To Look Good Naked, while Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan talks about the show and The Nolans reunion. Kate Humble and Chris Packham give a taster for Autumnwatch, and Ruth Watson turns her attention to struggling hotels that need her help. Piers Morgan also meets Sir Cliff Richard who is celebrating 50 years in showbusiness.

In the soaps, EastEnders’ Syed is struggling with his sexuality, while there are wedding bells for Coronation Street’s Fiz. Jennie McAlpine, who plays Fiz, reveals more about the big day in an exclusive interview. Charity’s return dominates Emmerdale, while The Loft has its grand reopening in Hollyoaks. In Doctors Heston has a surprise visit from his ex. In Neighbours, Steph is under attack on two fronts, and in Home And Away Rachel is distraught by baby Harry’s disappearance.
