Homeowners Spend A Whooping £400 A Year On Fixing Bad DIY Home Improvements!

2009-07-07 23:23:52 - Credit Crunch DIY can be disastrous for the pocket and health of consumers!

Many high street stores offer great bargains on home improvement products, enabling consumers to mirror homes of the rich and famous for a fraction of the price.

However, these improvements can come at a hefty price if special care is not taken with potentially dangerous electrical installations.

The average household spends up to £400 per year on fixing DIY disasters in the home, most of which can be saved by using a high quality and low cost electrician.

Damaged walls, furniture and soft furnishing are some of the main problems caused by DIY damage, according the survey conducted by Voltz Electrical.co.uk. One keen DIY goer even experienced marriage problems through arguing with his spouse after a particularly nasty electrical disaster. The said diy-er ended up in A&E after an electric shock and short-circuited the entire block of flats that the couple lived in!

Home improvements conducted by or alongside a professional can be much cheaper than expected, with many tradesmen happy to work alongside customers to achieve the look they want at a price that fits with their budget.

After all, when changing electrical points, or wiring in the home, you cannot put a price on health and safety.
