Rangers will listen to bids for every player

2009-07-05 14:19:03 -

GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) - Rangers manager Walter Smith says every member of the Scottish double-winning squad is up for sale.
The league and cup winners had said in January that key personnel would have to be sold in a bid to balance the books.
Fans had hoped that winning the Scottish Premier League and securing automatic entry into the lucrative group stages of the Champions League would mean holding on to their top stars.
But Smith says every player has a price, regardless of the money guaranteed by playing in Europe's top knockout competition, and that the earlier need to sell had remained.
«Every player is susceptible to a bid,» Smith told the Sunday Mail newspaper. «I know there's a feelgood factor after winning the double but this doesn't go away.
