Right-wing party to win in national elections

2009-07-04 11:17:01 -

SOFIA, Bulgaria (AP) - Opinion polls suggest voters will punish Bulgaria's Socialist-led coalition in weekend elections for failing to combat corruption in the former communist Balkan country.
Bulgarians angered by corruption allegations against Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev's government are expected to elevate Sofia Mayor Boiko Borisov's center-right opposition party in Sunday's vote.
A survey published Saturday suggests Borisov is expected to win easily, but may not gain enough parliamentary seats to govern without forming a coalition.
