Copper Box to Play Waupaca Festival



2009-07-01 06:46:59 - Acclaimed Oshkosh band Copper Box will be the closing musical act at the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community of Waupaca Family Fun Festival, scheduled for July 17-19.

WAUPACA, Wis., (July 1, 2009) –
Fronted by accordion ace Danny Jerabek and vocalist Michelle Jerabek, Copper Box “draws inspiration from rock, polka, blues and Zydeco, resulting in a fusion of sound that captivates listeners and creates a musical melting pot of American rhythms,” according to the group’s website.
Copper Box has received multiple Wisconsin Area Music Industry nominations, and was

selected to film a music video for Sony for presentation at a National Association of Broadcasting event. The group has been playing festivals, performing arts centers, and club dates throughout the country over the past six years, including Milwaukee’s Summerfest.
Copper Box will take the festival stage at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 19.
Other musical acts appearing at the festival include Norm Dombrowski and the Happy Notes, a polka-style band scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18; and Justmann Band, a variety group set for 11 a.m. Sunday, July 19.
The festival will also feature food, a lemonade bar, a classic car show, raffles, dunk tank, 50/50 drawing, and mini golf. Kids games are free all three days. A silent auction featuring crafts, getaways, themed gift baskets and more will take place Sunday, with bidding ending at 3 p.m.
St. Mary Magdalene is located at N2845 Shadow Road (off Highway 22) in Waupaca.
