Hosted Element Management System (HEMS) service to manage and monitor their network of approximately 20 network elements. This new service from Fujitsu offers network monitoring for service providers in a hosted environment, providing robust functionality and delivering the benefits of a network Element Management System (EMS) without the need for software, servers or server support staff.

“As part of our growing managed services portfolio, the Fujitsu Hosted EMS service offers the power of the NETSMART 1500 EMS to a whole new set of Fujitsu customers,” said Greg Manganello, vice president of services at Fujitsu Network Communications. “For the first time, our customers can affordably manage networks of all sizes with our NETSMART 1500 EMS without having to manage an associated IT infrastructure.”

Fujitsu hosts the NETSMART 1500 software in Richardson, Texas, at the company’s Network Operations Center (NOC) : cts.businesswire.com/ct/CT?id=smartlink&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww .. , running on a dedicated server with redundancy in Sunnyvale, Calif. The Hosted EMS service offers Fujitsu customers access to the NETSMART 1500 application as a client, and provides the customer with full fault, performance and management control.

DTC delivers basic telephone, wireless and video service, as well as advanced broadband communications, to their customers. They needed to monitor their network efficiently using a cost-effective solution for their network size, without significantly increasing staff overhead and workload.

“Purchasing the Hosted EMS service was the right choice,” said Jerry Strait, network/TCC supervisor at DTC. “We can have our entire network monitored by NETSMART 1500 software without having to actually purchase the software or server. We think the service is great, and it makes our jobs easier.”

The Madison Group : cts.businesswire.com/ct/CT?id=smartlink&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww .. , a valued Fujitsu reseller, sold the Hosted EMS service to DTC. As a specialty communications integrator with extensive experience, Madison offers turnkey network systems integration for central office projects (access, transport and switching for voice, data and video services), plus installation services.
