In fulfilling its commitment to provide the best possible playing conditions for its guests, The Golf Club at Newcastle is pleased to announce it has substantially completed rehabilitation of the public golf course, Coal Creek. Both Coal Creek and China Creek courses are now fully operational, open and taking tee times.
“We suspended golfing at Coal Creek during a rehabilitation process which included improving the greens, tees, fairways and bunkers,” noted David Hein, The Golf Club at Newcastle general manager. “In addition to substantial aeration, drainage and natural area projects, a total of nine greens on Coal Creek were resurfaced with the Poa Annua sod, which is conducive to the wet, cooler weather found in the Northwest.”
Hein added that the golf course maintenance team continues to work tirelessly to ensure that the superior standards of quality expected at Newcastle are reached. Both Coal Creek and China Creek courses at Newcastle underwent rehabilitation over the spring.
The Golf Club at Newcastle offers panoramic views of Mt. Rainier, the Olympic and the Cascade mountain ranges and includes two award-winning 18-hole public courses (Coal Creek and China Creek) with extensive practice facilities.
