A street where Britain's Princess Diana once lived has been named the most expensive in Britain. The average price of houses on Kensington Palace Gardens in Central London - where the late Princess of Wales once lived - is £41.4 million. Its current residents include Chesea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich and steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, who is rumoured to have paid £117 million for his home. The street has been nicknamed Billionaire's Row. It is so exclusive houses on it cost £34 million more than the second costliest road in the country, Compton Avenue in Hampstead, North London. According to a survey by property website zoopla.co.uk, the 20 most expensive roads are all located in London. Similarly, accommodation in towns which are near the city also tends to be costly. Salcombe in Devon is the most expensive town which is not located in South East England. At the other end of the scale, Grimsby, Hull and Middlesbrough all offer house buyers value for money. Properties in each of these areas can be bought for less than £100,000.
