Britain's Princess Anne got soaked by a rainstorm while presenting Olympic winner Ben Ainslie with his gold medal on Sunday (17.08.08). The princess - who is a member of the International Olympic Committee and president of the Royal Yachting Association - got caught in the rain at the Beijing ceremony as she commended the British sailor. She was originally scheduled to present the silver medal in the Yngling class. Last week, the royal visited the Chinese region of Macau to see the British athletes who have been training for the Olympics in the region for the last three weeks. It has also been revealed the princess will officially open a flagship leisure centre next month. The royal will cut the ribbon of the £17m DG One complex in Dumfries, Scotland. The sports centre - which boasts three swimming areas, a fitness suite and a 1,200-seater auditorium - was open to the public in May following several delays in its development. The opening ceremony will be held on September 29.
