BROOKLYN, NEW YORK - Victor Mooney (44) of Queens, will cast a cyber vote at The Brooklyn Bridge Park, where he looks to arrive after rowing across the Atlantic Ocean. Mooney is a candidate in the nationwide sponsorship program run by Priolsec OTC. Through this sponsorship program, eligible consumers can receive support for their individual passions. The public is encouraged to vote for their favorites. Those chosen for sponsorship will be announced on or around March 19th.

“My passion is for HIV/AIDS advocacy. Prilosec OTC has allowed me to continue my passion, so if I need heartburn relief in the Atlantic Ocean, I’m covered”, Mooney said.

Victor Mooney, is planning his third attempt to row five-thousand miles from Africa to

New York's Brooklyn Bridge. Mooney and his seven-teen foot ocean rowboat named, Never Give Up, looks to depart from The Republic of Cape Verde, an archipelago just off the west coast of Africa, on December 1st (World AIDS Day) , and begin rowing across the Atlantic. His trip will be completed when he rows under the Brooklyn Bridge. Mooney, a longtime advocate for AIDS testing has lost one brother to AIDS and has another that's HIV+.

"I’m confident this project will encourage people to get tested for HIV/AIDS, raise money for AIDS medicine and research. Notwithstanding, everyday people will be inspired to Never Give Up in their passion", Mooney added. The budget for this project is $50,000. All funds raised over this amount will be donated to charity.
