PreEmptive Solutions, the application protection and monitoring solutions provider, demonstrated, for the first time, a general purpose means of surfacing application usage data inside software design, development, and test environments.

During keynote presentations in Las Vegas and Berlin this week, senior Microsoft executives demonstrated Visual Studio 2010 extensibility framework combined with PreEmptive’s Runtime Intelligence Service in order to stream and surface

runtime data inside the Visual Studio 2010 code editor and architect explorer.

In addition to PreEmptive’s commercial offerings, baseline feature and session tracking is also included with Visual Studio 2010 inside the Community Edition of Dotfuscator. As such, Visual Studio 2010 is the first IDE to include both the ability to generate application runtime intelligence without programming and surface that intelligence, in context, to improve all phases of the application development lifecycle.
