Natalie Portman is desperate for another turn on Broadway - but fears inflated ticket prices have stifled creativity in theatres.
The Hollywood actress last appeared on the New York stage in 2001, in a production of Chekhov's The Seagull, alongside Meryl

Streep, Kevin Kline and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
She also appeared on Broadway in 1997, playing the lead role in an adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank.
But Portman fears she may not get another chance to tackle a gritty role in a play - because high prices mean many theater-goers are unwilling to buy seats for less well-known productions.
She tells the New York Post, "It's gotten so expensive that the audiences you get aren't up for something experimental."
