WARSAW, Poland (AP) - Polish officials say they have discovered the remains of four bodies dating back to World War II and are investigating whether they were buried in a mass grave with many others.
Andrzej Arseniuk, spokesman for the Institute of National Remembrance which investigates Nazi- and communist-era crimes, said Wednesday that the bodies were found next to a train station in Czestochowa.
Institute prosecutor Piotr Nalepa says experts began digging after a witness said he was forced by the Nazis during the wartime German occupation of Poland to bury bodies there.

The witness believes there could be up to 2,000 buried at the spot and experts are continuing excavation work to see if that is the case. Nalepa says the bodies are likely Polish war victims.
