A thief in China has exchanged a pair of trousers he stole after realising they didn't fit him properly.
The man returned to the department store in Sanya, Hainan Province, with the stolen trousers and secretly replaced them with a new pair.
The suspect is described as male and in his 30s - he was seen trying on a number of trousers on various days before the garment was stolen.
When staff took stock after work the following day, they were shocked to find the original stolen pair of trousers had reappeared, but a similar pair in a different size was missing.
Police have now launched an investigation.
