Peter Wilkinson, CEO of Wilkinson PR, a full service corporate affairs and public relations agency with offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, has been appointed President Asia Pacific of IPREX, the global corporation of independent public relations and communication firms.

Wilkinson has set out four key areas of benefit for IPREX partners in the region.

- Growth: Opportunities to generate new business by building relationships with partners worldwide
- Performance: Improved agency operations and performance through discussion and information sharing with other partners
- Quality: Improved professional knowledge and services to clients, through working with other partners in the IPREX Quality Assurance and Professional Development programs
- Networking: Access to global resources and perspectives for our clients.

Commenting on his new role he said: “Our

task in Asia Pacific is to build a team of agencies equipped for the triple challenges of growth, quality assurance and the online media revolution. We all want global relationships, and IPREX makes that easier, removing the uncertainty of new inter-agency alliances.

“My role is to ensure we are pro-active in efficiently connecting our Asian agencies into the US and Europe. Speaking plainly, that means for instance connecting agencies across all time-zones within 36 hours, and checking back that the fit is right. Clients the world over appreciate, in fact expect, nimbleness and we can walk the talk.

“The recovery end of the recession in particular will present a lot of business opportunities. We know that our partner agencies in the US and Europe are anxious for Asian contacts.”

Peter Wilkinson takes over from David Ketchum of Upstream Asia, which was recently acquired by Bite Communications.
