Peter Bach's powerful domestic drama "Talk of the Town" has been selected for entry in the Norwich Film Festival. It has been generating a lot of buzz recently on the festival circuit and is in contention for a number of awards. Inspired by true events the director has produced a deeply personal story seen through the eyes of a young boy (David Ackroyd). It's an end-of-innocence parable but distinguished by an achingly powerful central portrayal by Robin Seymour which has been gaining a lot of attention from critics and festival-goers, as well as solid support from the rest of the cast, in particular Laura Cairns as the mother. When it is revealed that a single mother is not who she
claims to be, the small town in which she lives with her young son turns against her in brutal fashion. Not for the faint-hearted, the film has been compared to Gary Oldman's 'Nil By Mouth' and the type of gritty drama that has been missing from our screens for the most part in recent years.
