- DeVries Public Relations Shauna Mayer, 212-891-0419 smayer@devries-pr.com Women everywhere - mothers, sisters, aunts, friends - have had their lives affected by breast cancer. Pepperidge Farm is joining the fight as a proud sponsor of Susan G. Komen for the Cure(R) and as a National Series Sponsor of The Breast Cancer 3-Day(R) series of walks. Pepperidge Farm forged this partnership
as a commitment to pursuing cures to end breast cancer forever.
Pepperidge Farm is inspired by the company's founder, Margaret Rudkin, to join the fight against breast cancer. A determined entrepreneur, Margaret overcame numerous obstacles while building Pepperidge Farm from its roots in her Connecticut home into the leading company it is today. In her journey through life, Margaret was also touched by breast cancer. It is in her honor that Pepperidge Farm is proud to encourage and inspire women to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
In tandem with the Komen for the Cure partnership, Pepperidge Farm is teaming up with LaCroix Sparkling Water to host the "Her Voice Campaign," which will provide women with unique fundraising opportunities during The Breast Cancer 3-Day walks. Women participating in the 2008 Breast Cancer 3-Day walks will have the opportunity to capture their stories of motivation, inspiration and survival and their personal footage and testimonials will be featured on the "Her Voice Campaign" Web site. Participants in the "Her Voice Campaign" will become members of a global network designed to spread awareness about breast cancer and provide support for the millions of individuals and families who have been touched by the disease. This virtual community is the first online destination dedicated to giving a voice to courage and commitment.
Pepperidge Farm and LaCroix Water will also extend their commitment to women and the fight against breast cancer at the Breast Cancer 3-Day series of walks with "Inspiration Stations." These designated areas will be located in the tent cities and will serve as a refuge for walkers to relax, recharge and enjoy Pepperidge Farm cookies and LaCroix Sparkling Water. The "Inspiration Stations" will display stories and testimonials from the "Her Voice Campaign."
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Pepperidge Farm will display its commitment to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure partnership and the fight against breast cancer with pink packaging on a variety of its cookies including Milano(R) cookies, Double Chocolate Milano cookies, Mint Milano cookies, Bordeaux(R) cookies and Brussels(R) cookies. Its Verona(R) Strawberry and Montieri(TM) Raspberry cookies will be available in pink packaging exclusively at Target stores while its Chocolate Chunk Sausalito(R) cookies and Tahoe(R) cookies will be available in pink packaging exclusively at Wal-Mart stores.

About Susan G. Komen for the Cure
Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, we have invested more than $1 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
