A man awoke from a circumcision operation to find his penis had been cut off.
Philip Seaton went for the routine operation at a Kentucky hospital last year, but is suing doctors after his penis was amputated.
He has filed a lawsuit citing mental anguish, pain and claiming he has lost the enjoyment of life.
Philip’s lawyer Kevin George says the organ was removed after cancer was found, but adds medics only had permission to remove the foreskin.
He said: “Sometimes you have an emergency and you have to do this, but he could very easily closed him up and said, 'Here are your options. You have cancer' and the family would have said, 'We want a second opinion. This is a big deal.' "
