U.S. rockers PEARL JAM will testify in a bid to help the families who lost their loved ones at the 2000 Roskilde Festival in Denmark.
Nine people were crushed to death in front of the stage during the band's set and this has left an indelible impression on the rock stars.
Before the rock group played in Copenhagen on Tuesday night (26Jun07) - their first gig in Denmark since the tragedy - frontman Eddie Vedder and his bandmates requested a meeting with the lawyer for the families who have so far sued the festival to no avail.
High Court lawyer Tyge Trier announced that either frontman Eddie Vedder or guitarist Stone Gossard will show up in court to testify on behalf of the families.
Four of the families demand the festival assumes responsibility for what happened and are looking to seek payment of 170,000 Danish kroner ($31,000/£15,500) in each case.
The amount is to cover the funeral costs and the upkeep of the burial plots.
