2013-11-01 18:54:25 - Last weekend, October 24-27, 2013, the Xbox One Tour made its stop at 200 Peachtree, Atlanta’s top special events venue, bringing gamers from across Georgia and the Southeast.
The new Xbox One is set to be released in the U.S. on November 22. Prior to that, gamers have to opportunity to attend an event in one of 75 cities around the world. The stop in Atlanta was the biggest in terms of visitors so far, bringing in 200% of the number of people anticipated to attend. Xbox fans had a chance to test-drive the new console and pre-order their own.
The event was mesmerizing with a live DJ, live game play and intense green lighting for magical effect. Microsoft went all out when it came to creating the atmosphere for the event. Game controllers were turned into art, and were displayed in glass cases through the venue. Atlanta attendees
also got to hear from special guest, Lawrence "Larry" Hryb, known by his Xbox Live gamertag Major Nelson, the Director of Programming for the Microsoft gaming network Xbox Live.
The Xbox One Tour is open to the public, but attendees must be 18 years old or older. Due to extremely high demand, it may be difficult to find an Xbox One console in November. The tour will continue through the end of the year; so, if you missed the stop in Atlanta, you may have a few other opportunities.
200 Peachtree is an Atlanta landmark situated right in the heart of downtown Atlanta. Many people know the venue for its gorgeous arched windows, Corinthian columns and massive crystal chandeliers; but, the versatile venue also has 20,000 square feet of industrial space that was perfect for creating a gamers high-tech haven.
