-- 2012 winner of the Council for the Contemporary Family Media Award -- is Emmy-winner Kate Schermerhorn's funny and moving personal quest for the secret to a happy marriage, and for answers to some timely questions about the institution itself.
This one-hour documentary, which Schermerhorn embarked on with her second husband on their honeymoon, and unexpectedly completed as the pair divorced, features an eclectic mix of couples -- from a pair who dress alike daily to a newlywed pair of California mothers, and a feisty English widow -- all sharing their secrets to marital bliss. A lively and world-renowned group of marriage experts ground the film in fact as they piece together the history and possible future and motivations for marriage.
The film asks questions like what, for example, motivates 90% of Americans to marry when half of those unions will end in divorce? Along the way, Schermerhorn chronicles the joys and heartbreaks of her own marriage, and finds that even the best advice can't always guarantee you a happily ever after.
