Hughes Watters Askanase, L.L.P. ( www.HWA.com : ) announced that Pascal Arteaga has joined the Houston-based law firm as an associate in the Real Estate Practice Area.

Arteaga began working at HWA as a law clerk in April 2007 while attending South Texas College of Law in Houston (STCL). As a member of HWA’s Real Estate Practice Area, he reports to co-managing partner Gary Gunn.

Arteaga focuses his practice on the representation of individuals and corporations in the leasing, development, financing, acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate. He also assists financial institutions in foreclosures, bankruptcies, collections and other banking matters.

“I'm excited to be on the team at Hughes Watters Askanase," Arteaga said. "HWA's corporate and real estate finance practices particularly

appealed to me because of my background in financial analysis and mortgage banking. I am enjoying working alongside the respected attorneys and staff at HWA to meet the needs of our clients."


Arteaga was admitted to the Texas Bar in November 2008 after receiving his law degree, cum laude, in the same year from the South Texas College of Law. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics in 1999 from the University of Texas at Austin. During law school, Arteaga was an editor on the International Trade Law Journal entitled "Currents", president of the STCL Texas Exes (University of Texas alumni), and an active member of the STCL Hispanic Law Students Association. He is currently a member of the Hispanic Bar Association and Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
