ATHENS, Greece (AP) - Manucho scored a goal in each half Sunday to help Panathinaikos beat host Panionios 2-1 in the Greek league playoffs for European competitions.
Refic Djeabbour scored for Panionios.
AEK Athens also won, beating visiting Aris 1-0. Nikos Lymberopoulos scored the only goal.
Panathinaikos and AEK are now even at the top of the four-club
playoffs, with the winner moving into the qualifying rounds of the Champions League. The four teams are also vying for a place in the UEFA Cup and another in the Intertoto Cup.
Panionios missed a major scoring opportunity when a low drive by Djeabbour grazed Mario Galinovic's post in the 14th, two minutes before Manucho put Panathinaikos ahead off a cross from Giorgos Karagounis.
A powerful shot by Lambros Houtos forced Galinovic to make a flying save before Djeabbour leveled off a cross by Manolis Skoufalis in the 74th.
Nine minutes before the end of the game, Manucho headed in the winner off a cross from Andreas Ivanschitz.
On Wednesday, AEK travels to Aris and Panathinaikos hosts Panionios.
