that Panasonic has received high marks in the 2008 Annual Report Card (ARC) from Everything Channel's VARBusiness. Now in their 23rd year, the VARBusiness ARC Awards recognize outstanding partner programs and superb vendor service in 18 major product categories. The ARC awards were given at a ceremony held on August 18 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Dallas, TX.
Panasonic's Toughbook line of mobile computers received a first place in the Product Innovation category while finishing in the top two in the Notebook/Mobile Computers category. For fifteen years, Panasonic has led the industry in reliable mobile and wireless computing with notebook, tablet and handheld form factors for mission-critical users working in a range of environments, from extreme to mainstream. Utilizing principles of core manufacturing, Panasonic controls the process of design, manufacture, quality assurance, service and support, helping to give Toughbook PCs the lowest failure rates in the industry.
"For 23 years we've asked solution providers to grade their vendor partners on criteria such as product quality and innovation, partner programs and support," said Robert C. DeMarzo, senior vice president and editorial director, Everything Channel editorial. "Each year the results of these grades have created the VARBusiness Annual Report Card which reflects the level of commitment vendors have to the channel and to their solution provider partners."
"Channel Executive of the Year is awarded to executives who oversee their company's channel programs and initiatives and have demonstrated a commitment to their Solution Provider partners. These executives have made a significant impact on their channel programs, proven through each program's growth and the satisfaction of the company's Solution Provider participants," DeMarzo added.
Winners were selected by VARBusiness editorial staff based on the survey results of more than 5,000 systems integrators, IT consulting organizations, value-added resellers (VARs), solution providers and software developers.
"Receiving high honors in the ARC awards is welcome validation of the investment and commitment Panasonic has made to the channel and to delivering Toughbook(R) computing products our partners can be proud to recommend to their customers," said Sheila O'Neil, vice president of channel sales, Panasonic Computer Solutions Company. "As a result of our product development, manufacturing and quality processes and our engagement with our partners, we believe we have set the standard for reliable computing solutions in an increasingly mobile and wireless world. We will continue to push ourselves to earn the trust of our partners everyday."
