2013-08-28 19:50:19 - The 2nd Annual Big Horn Music Festival takes place in Mt Baldy September 6-8th. Thirty bands are confirmed to perform on 4 stages over the 3 day event in unique mountain atmosphere.
The 2nd Annual Big Horn Festival will take place on September 6-8th at the top of the Sugar Pine Chairlift at Mt Baldy Ski Lifts.
Mt Baldy is located immediately north of Upland and Claremont, just minutes off the 210 Freeway at the Mountain Avenue or Baseline exits.
“This year, the event will include four different stages, where over 30 bands are confirmed to perform during the three days. The music genres include Folk, Country, Bluegrass, Blue and other forms of American roots music. The music has something for everybody including some of the best talent you’ve never heard of, ” states Ron Ellingson, President Mt Baldy Ski Lifts Inc.
“The Big Horn Music Festival is located is one of the most
picturesque environments in Southern California. Visitors take a 15 minute chairlift ride from the parking lot up to the venue situated at an altitude of 7,800 feet. At this altitude the air is cleaner, the temperatures are about 15 degrees cooler than in the valley, and on a clear day you can see Catalina Island. This environment adds to overall atmosphere and uniqueness of the event.”

Stages are located at the top of Sugar Pine Chairlift, main stages in front of the Ski School and Rental buildings and the fourth in the Top of the Notch Restaurant.

Sherpa services are provided throughout the day to transport guest’s camping equipment by truck to their camp site on the mountain.
The Top of the Notch Restaurant, located at the top of the Sugar Pine Chairlift, will be open for the duration of the Festival. A full menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner items will be available together with a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
“The Festival can be a mini-vacation for the entire family. Parents can enjoy the music and atmosphere and kids will enjoy exploring the mountain,” concludes Ellingson.
