Clean-cut Mormon Marie Osmond turned down an offer to star as Sandy in Grease - because she didn't want to play a bad girl.
Film bosses approached the singer/actress to play conservative student Sandy Olsson at the height her fame in 1978.
Producers were forced to hand over the role to Australian actress Olivia Newton John after Osmond rebuffed the offer - insisting she didn't agree with playing a character who turned bad to get her man.
And Osmond doesn't regret turning down the chance of being part of the hugely successful movie.
She tells Fox news, "The script came to me, and (it) was much edgier then what Olivia came up with.
"But I was at a place in my life where I wanted to have children and I didn't like the fact that the girl had to turn bad to get the guy. I think the guy has to work hard to get the girl, that's what I believe."
